The Birds of Asheville’s Spring

Although the crisp winter weather has not quite departed, Asheville has experienced an early arrival of spring flowers. Along with Forsythia, Cherry Blossoms and early blooming Tulips, we can expect to see some of our spring feathered friends.

Some favorite arrivals include Eastern Bluebirds, Purple Martins, Barn Swallows and come April, Ruby-throated Hummingbirds. Check out Bookends for Field Guides that can help you identify some of your favorites.

While you’re there, take a look at our latest display and be sure to read about it in our current post: The Birds of Asheville’s Spring

Thanks for your continued support of Friends of Pack Library!

About Bookends

Bookends is a used bookstore managed by Friends of Pack Library volunteers. Located just inside Pack Memorial Library in downtown Asheville, it’s open during regular library hours.

Supported through generous book donations, our excellent assortment of gently used books of all genres are sold at reasonable prices and categorized by topic, with classics and most fiction alphabetized by author. Other items such as audio books, CDs, DVDs and comic books are also available. Funds raised benefit the library, and consequently the community.

Book sales take place periodically within the bookstore. Two major annual sales are typically held in Lord Auditorium in mid-July and mid-October. Check this page and Upcoming Events for current information.
